Why Connect services and housing?
LACLT’s low to moderate income residents come from a variety of
backgrounds. Most of our residents are simply working families
unable to afford area rents on their salaries. Others are
single parents with children or families who are homeless or near
homeless. These residents often face additional barriers to
self-sufficiency and can benefit from supportive counseling and a
broad array of social services.
LACLT strives to make sure its residents in need have access to all
the supportive counseling, social services, training opportunities,
relationship-building opportunities and leadership opportunities
available to them to stabilize their families and become
self-sufficient.
The purpose of offering resident
services is to enhance residents’ quality of life and build healthy
communities. Services stabilize families in need through
coordination of community resources and help families to overcome
personal and systemic barriers to self-sufficiency. It is also a
socially responsible approach to asset management which results in
an increased ability of the residents to uphold lease obligations
and a decrease in resident turnover and eviction.
